It’s summer, it’s vacation time, and what better way to spend it than jumping on a sketchy jet airplane a.k.a. an Airbus and heading to Indian Rocks Beach and attending the 2018 Tampa Bay Comic-Con. Tampa’s Comic-Con is 3-days of everything comics, video games, celebrity guest appearances and more.
This was my first Comic-Con so I didn’t know what to expect. I’ve lived in Nebraska for so long and I don’t get out much. At first, I was overwhelmed by the sheer size of the exhibition floor. I spent my entire Friday just walking around from booth to booth looking at artwork from all over the world. I didn’t start buying art until Saturday… it’s that big!
What’s so great about Comic-Con is it’s a place you can escape your everyday BS. Nobody is judging anybody and everyone is just having a great time. You’ll find everything from The Walking Dead to Spider-Man at the con. There was even a break dance off between a group of Spider-"Men", it was hilarious. All in all, it was a great time.
Last but not least, you will definitely want to bring some cash so you can drop some dollars down on the artwork by a ton of great artists. I picked up six or seven artwork prints and a couple of t-shirts that would fit in my suitcase. So there you have it, be sure to visit your local Comic-Cons and enjoy the art and fun atmosphere.
